Spangel! or How Joss gives us what we want

How had I missed this? And how did the bf find it before I did and generously posted it on my Facebook wall? And how awesome is it? Too many questions.

Anyways, head to DarkHorsePresents to find what this Spike/Angel slash fiction is all about and how I am considering it canon since this was penned by Joss himself.

2008, or How I'm adding to my wishlist

I can't help but keep adding to my 2008 Wish List:

Buffy Season 8 continues
Is anyone else anxious about Drew Goddard's arc or Jane Espenson's issue?
San Diego Comic Con 2008
I had such a good time at the 07 one I'm already saving up to see if I can manage a repeat
BSG Season 4 (read: Last one!)
It has to be frakking amazing, right?
Umbrella Academy
How will it all end? And will please Gerard give us more?
Y the Last Man: The END!
Yes, we'll all cry once Yorick leaves us...
The End of the WGA Strike
One hopes... And if it does:
Pushing Daisies
I mean after that revelation re: Aunt Lily, I need this ASAP

How I Met Your Mother
Because I really want to meet The Mother already!
30 Rock
Do I really need an excuse to want more of this?

Georges Jeanty Part III, or How Willow is ready for her close up

Finishing up our tripartite look at Georges Jeanty's wonderful closeups of Joss's leading ladies, here I have the (albeit few) close up images of Willow - clearly this is a sign that we are lacking in the Willow department...

"Ms Willow Rosenberg is ready for her close-up Mr Jeanty"

Although I shouldn't complain. Joss and Dark Horse seem to be in this for the long haul. We can only hope that throughout Season 8's run we get more Willow, and (if my prayers are to be answered by some CG Angel) an Anya/Andrew standalone issue (I'm thinking a 'Storyteller' type episode where Andrew needs to update Anya - who has been resucitated by an unsuspecting Xander, on what's been going on while all the while inserting much welcome pop-cultural references that our dear Ms Jenkins will not get. Hilarity will, of course, ensue.)
[Seriously - why is Jane Espenson not writing this? It could even include a flashback that includes Jonathan, seeing as how that Danny Strong character was a favourite of Ms Espenson.]
But alas, as per custom this idea of mine will be relegated to the wonderful world that is my mind (and no - I will not succumb to that fanboy desire to write (gasp!) fanfic... Here at A Blog Next Door we draw the line at that. And cosplay of course. )

Georges Jeanty Part II, or How Faith is ready for her close-up

Celebrating (but of course always already mourning) the fact that Mr Brian K. Vaughan wraps up his duties as guest-writer in Joss Whedon's Buffy Season 8 comic book series, I am continuining paying tribute to the artist behind the lovely pictures that have brought (with great flare and verisimilitude I might add) the beloved characters from the series. Back are all our original faves (well, almost all - we've yet to see recently deceased Anya, not-so-recently deceased Tara and our favourite werewolf Oz... but, y'know what I mean, why if Amy the witch, Warren the flayed nerd, Brit Ethan and even neat-freak Mayor Wilkins have all gotten the comic-book treatment have we not gotten to see past better-halves of our Scooby Gang? I don't include Cordy mainly cause she would be, I believe now be in IDW Angel canon and not on the Dark Horse buffyverse...) But I digress. Were was I? Oh yes. All our favourite Sunnydale characters are back and have been comic-book canonised by Mr Georges Jeanty and continuing from last week's Buffy post, I give you a post showcasing our (other) favourite slayer: Faith.

Georges Jeanty Part I, or How Buffy is ready for her close-up

After (re)reading Brian K Vaughan's Buffy Season 8 issue 8 (one of the best issues yet!) I was quite impressed with Georges Jeanty's art. I have been admiring his work from issue to issue, but it was in this one where I realised he's just getting better and better (can't wait for next week's issue!)

I thought I should show some love to Mr Jeanty (recently 'seen' on Dexter) and I decided to showcase what I consider is Georges strength: Close-ups. Since I seem to work on threequel posts (I swear, Spidey, Captain Jack and Jason Bourne have no influence on my blog whatsoever!) I will be featuring Georges' three leading ladies in three different posts: Buffy, Willow and Faith.

Skrulling Faith, or How I am Seeing Double

I don't know why but as soon as I saw this (fabulous!) Faith cover in the Wizard Interview, I was reminded of yet another Jo Chen cover for another Vaughan-tastic series.

No Future For You, or How I Can't Wait For Wednesday!

Isn't this rivalry just perfect? I love it. More of Vaughan-goodness here.
